Te Puna Courtyard

I was asked to visit this expansive lifestyle garden in 2017 to design a woodland area adjacent to the drive and to look at a central courtyard early in the planning stages of a major house renovation. The house renovation took a lot longer than expected but this was beneficial for the garden planning as it was able to evolve, naturally, and with careful consideration, over time. The courtyard was laid out with pegs initially and carefully adjusted to allow for access ways, key view points and shaded seating. Each of the large boulders were individually selected and placed with the clients input. The finished courtyard was a genuinely unique result of the alchemy between the client, the land and the designer. Credit for photos Brendon Gordon

We were so impressed by Trish and her quiet methods of gathering information from us about what mattered most in our courtyard project. We totally love the outcome and couldn't be happier. The hard materials, the plants and the flow. It brings us joy every day.
